iPhone remote for Sony BRAVIA (Google TV) — Quick Start Guide

日本語·English

Getting started — connect to your TV

  1. Put your iPhone and TV on the same Wi-Fi network.
Your TV must have “IP control” and “Power on via network (remote start)” enabled. See the full manual for details.
  2. Launch the app — it automatically finds BRAVIA TVs on the same network.
Tap the TV you found. If it doesn’t appear, you can enter its IP address with “Add a TV manually.”
  3. A 4-digit PIN appears on the TV screen.
Enter it on your iPhone and tap Pair. That’s it — the app reconnects automatically next time.
Note: for the first connection, turn the TV on first (no PIN appears while the screen is off).

Remote screen — your everyday controls

This screen gathers the everyday TV controls. From the top:

  • Top header (shared on every screen) — the ⏻ power button at the top right toggles On / Standby. The TV name and state (On / Standby) show in the center.
  • Sources & navigationTV Terrestrial BS/CS 4K, plus Home Menu Input.
  • Streaming buttons — launch YouTube, Netflix, etc. with one tap. Choose which apps appear (up to 3) in Settings.
  • D-pad and OK — the glowing OK in the center confirms. Drag the click-wheel to its right up and down to scroll long lists quickly.
  • Volume & channel — the +/− rockers. The small middle button on the Volume rocker mutes the TV; the middle of the ch rocker shows on-screen info.
  • Guide, Recordings, Back — grouped at the bottom right.
Swipe left/right, or tap the tab bar, to switch screens (Media, Keypad, Apps, Settings).

Media screen — playback control and the jog dial

This screen is built for controlling recorded shows and videos. The star is the central jog dial.

  • Drag around the rim of the dial — step a video forward or back a little at a time (Jog mode).
  • Mode switch (top)Jog (frame): nudge forward/back by how far you turn. Shuttle (variable): the turn angle sets the fast-forward / rewind speed, and lifting your finger returns to play.
  • The round button in the dial’s center — this is the TV’s “OK / confirm.” Use it to start the selected video, for example. It depresses with a click when pressed.
  • Vertical & horizontal wheels — beside and below the dial; drag them to move the cursor. Handy for picking thumbnails.
  • Transport row at the bottom⏮ Prev ⏪ Rewind ▶ Play ⏸ Pause ⏩ Forward ⏭ Next.
Jog/Shuttle is experimental. How finely it moves depends on your TV model and the app/content being played.

Example — watching YouTube

  1. On the Remote screen, tap the YouTube button.
Even from standby the TV powers on and YouTube launches. If you’ve set one, the app adjusts the volume to that preset.
  2. Switch to the Media tab and pick a video with the vertical/horizontal wheels.
Drag the vertical wheel (right of the dial) up/down and the horizontal wheel (below it) left/right to move across the thumbnails. Each drag steps with a click, so you can pick from a long list quickly.
  3. Press the round button in the dial’s center to start playback.
With a video highlighted, the center button sends “OK” and playback begins. It depresses with a satisfying click.
  4. Turn the jog dial to move the video to where you want.
Drag the rim clockwise to go forward, counter-clockwise to go back — jump to a scene or rewind a moment you missed. Pause with ⏸ Pause at the bottom, or with the center button.
  5. When you’re done, press Back to return to the list.
During playback the first “Back” may only hide the on-screen controls; press it again if so (that’s YouTube’s behavior).
